Procrastination

I started a little late but that is what procrastination will do to you. Procrastination has become a big part in a students life be it that they are in high school or college. Doing assignments that are difficult or just plain pointless can lead to procrastination. This blog is a perfect example of students procrastinating we have 9 weeks to post a 500 word blog and it seems that most of the students have waited to the last minute. You a not alone, a lot a people procrastinate.

I really find myself procrastinating when I have to blog on the internet or study for a test or just doing homework because there are so many distractions. Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, AIM, or just searching the web for something to do other than the assignment. It is really hard to focus on such a ridiculous assignment.

Procrastination is easy to avoid if you set your mind to doing the assignment. You can set a plan and make a goal. Think about the following how long will the assignment take, when is it due, make sure you stick to your goal, ask questions about the assignment, reward yourself when you finish. If it is a lengthy assignment take it one step at a time, take the assignment in parts(break it down). Do the hard assignment first, expect the unexpected ( you can't pick when something comes up), and most of all don't get distracted.

When you find yourself distracted just remember that the assignment is more important. Just focus on finishing the assignment and then go on the computer. Stay focused on the task at hand. Procrastination happens to almost everyone and it is very difficult to avoid. Just stay focused and remember what is important.

Homework and projects can be difficult. Just think the sooner you get the assignment the sooner you can do what you want to do.

  5. I don't usually do things early unless I know I don't have the time later but it all comes down to good time management. The picture at the end is funny.

  7. Maybe procrastination wouldn't be so much of a problem if we weren't so time cramped and stressed (referring to Oconnor's blog)

  8. If we weren't under so much stress, and actually had interesting projects, students probably wouldn't procrastinate so much.

  9. I think that teens need to get over their attitude that they have when they get a project, and maybe they will not procrastinate.
